Lotus has unveiled a new limited-edition Exige S with the moniker LF1, paying tribute to its 81 Grand Prix victories. Dressed in the official colours of the Lotus F1 team, the black-gold Exige S with red accents will be limited to 81 units. Each one is individually numbered with a carbonfibre build plate.

As usual, the embargos are tumbling ahead of the 2009 Frankfurt motor show – with photos of the new VW 1L concept car and electric Audi R8 spreading like wildfire. Both were supposed to be surprises held for a soirée on the eve of the show. Volkswagen’s 1L concept car is Wolfsburg’s latest incarnation of its cigar-shaped two-seater.
Saab: Time for Victor Muller to be forced aside? Victor Muller is a charming and charismatic man, as evidenced by the endless stream of seemingly sensible business people he’s persuaded to invest in Saab, and other Muller ventures. But we’re beginning to wonder if the demise of Saab has been hastened by Muller, rather than delayed.
